Al Christie Tribute

Post by tguinan » Wed Mar 17, 2021 9:56 am

In case you guys missed the announcement in the Silent Screenings section this coming Saturday/Sunday the Niles Essanay Silent Film Museum will be hosting an Al Christie Tribute using 12 of the films I have on my DVD's plus a recorded Zoom meeting with myself, Sam Gill and Steve Massa two film historians and authors; and on Sunday a live Zoom meeting with the three of us. I don't know how long the Sunday one will be but the Saturday zoom ran over 3 hours and I had a blast talking with Sam & Steve. We have shortened the it down to just over an hour. If you get the chance to see the longer version it has a lot of info and great stories from Sam and Steve.

Here's the Schedule:
Saturday 12:00 AM the following go live

Behind the Screen (1915)
Detective, Dan Cupid (1914)
Lizzie's Dizzy Career (1915)
Pruning The Movies (1915)
Mr. Fatima (1920)
Rocking The Boat (1921)
Pre-recorded Zoom (2021)

Sunday 12:00 AM the following go live

A Perfect 36 (1923)
A Rarin' Romeo (1925)
Fool Proof (1923)
Grandpa's Girl (1924)
Kidding Katie (1923)
Swiss Movements (1927)

Sunday 5:00 PM (PDT)

Live Zoom Meeting w/ Q&A

If you get a chance join us!

Worth seeing for the Eddie Lyons films alone! Wish I could be there.

What a treat!
So many aspects of this past year have been difficult, but then there are so many folks finding ways to put smiles in line . Connecting through comedy is what is getting me through.

Thanks so much for doing this.
I will be there. How do O find the link/ links to the programs?

On previous Niles events, the links do not appear on the Niles page until the day of the show, but they will remain up there for a while afterwards.

Yes the links won't go live until 12:00 AM Saturday morning. You can go to their web page www.nilesfilmmuseum.org or go to youtube and search for Niles Essanay Silent Film Museum and pull it up there too.
