He was almost shot for cowardice.

sad to see his passing, that means everybody from one of my favorite movies "Flight of the Phoenix" is gone now, perhaps with the exception of Barrie Chase. She only appears in a dream sequence. She seems to be the last man or woman standing in films. She's also the only main cast left from "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World". RIP Hardy!

Was surprised to see he was still around up 'til recently. Am sure he was one of the "I thought he was already dead" brigade...

Aye chi mama -- can't get over the 93. Mostly because I didn't see his post-60s stuff, and, in the 60s, he was cast as the young muscular team member or brusque young rounder. But in a world where Marsha Hunt is 104, Dick Van Dyke is 96, Mel Brooks is 95, Lollobrigida is 94, and Bardot and Loren are 87 -- okay, it makes sense. I guess this means the original Mickey Mouse Club regulars are all getting the early bird dinner at 4 p.m. (if they're still around.)
