A SONG IN THE DARK V 2.0

Post by Harlett O'Dowd » Sat Oct 24, 2009 12:45 pm

I guess this counts as news.

But anyway, time for a shameless plug.

For all you lovers of musicals, the transition to sound and all things Golden Dawn, Richard Barrios has heavily revised his seminal study of early and pre-Code musicals, A Song in The Dark. And while the street date, is still three weeks away, it looks as if Amazon is already carrying the revised book:

got my copy from Amazon a few days ago. An absolute must read.

Richard Barrios will be presenting a program of musical excerpts (pre-1932) at Cinefest next March as well as introducing a couple of pre 1932 musicals that he discusses in the book

Is it too early to lobby for a Barrios Cinceon appearance of his presentation?
