Douglas Fairbanks & NCIS

Post by Michael F. Blake » Wed Mar 17, 2010 12:14 am

On tonight's episode of NCIS, the character played by Michael Weatherby (he is always quoting lines from movies) sits down at the end of the show with a fellow officer, Ziva, and they watch Fairbanks in THE BLACK PIRATE.

They showed the opening credits of the fim and a shot of the pirate ship. Nice to see that even in 2010, silents are still remembered on current TV.

Michael, it was interesting that they showed the opening credits and a really boring shot of the ship. I could have sworn with the first shot that they would follow it with Doug cutting down the sails. Also, there seemed to be a really bad video glitch as they went to the shot of the ship. I wonder if the Amazon sales will rise today. :D

Correct me if I'm wrong, but in one of the early seasons of Criminal Minds, after a particularly gruesome case, doesn't Mandy Patinkin's character bring out an old 8mm projector in the HQ and shows the team some silent Chaplin as an antidote???
I could use some digital restoration myself...

In BROKEN FLOWERS, Bill Murray is shown watching THE PRIVATE LIFE OF DON JUAN.
