Chaplin Keystone title

Post by Nancy Lorraine » Mon Apr 05, 2010 9:49 pm

I was asked today about an 8mm film someone has found which is identified as “62002D Charlie Chaplin – Tough Luck” in handwritten script (sounds like this is on the leader?) and "Keystone Release" on the opening frames.

Does anyone know what the equivalent Keystone-Chaplin title would be for "Tough Luck"? I remember someone posted a great list on the alt.movies.chaplin forum some years ago, matching the original release title with these retitled-repackaged home versions. But I can't seem to find it again...

This question trickled down to me because I'm somewhat knowledgeable about Chaplin - however, I'm not familiar with the titles on these home formats. I haven't had any contact myself with the person who has the film, so I don't know any more information than what's given above.

Any info or leads would be much appreciated.

I'm pretty sure Doug Sulpy would know- you can probably find him on the Silent Comedians forum.
