Nita Naldi portrait

Post by FrankFay » Wed Jul 14, 2010 4:17 pm

I just picked up this lovely 11x14 image of Nita Naldi- there's no photographer listed- anyone recognize this? I can't get a great copy with my point n' shoot but the headdress appears to be crocheted out of scarab beads.

This is from Lawful Larceny, so it's probably a studio photographer. It's not a Thayer-Monroe, the photog she preferred. There's no attribution on the back? It's a lovely headdress, but it sadly lacks the zany splendor of the classic Ping-Pong Ball chapeau.

Nope, not a trace of a mark on the back, nice print though. I think I'll get this framed.

No home is complete without a framed Nita Naldi.

It is lovely. You should send a scan to Kevin Scrantz at http://claroscureaux.blogspot.com so he can make a color version for his site.

Not bad!- though there are scarabs all over the back of that headdress as well. Sorry I don't have a scanner.

I've just matted her in a very plain old wood frame with a light gray mat- it sets her off very well.
