Post by thomas_gladysz » Sun Dec 12, 2010 9:40 pm

The 1929 GW Pabst directed film, Diary of a Lost Girl, starring Louise Brooks, will be screened twice in January.

On January 2nd, The Diary of a Lost Girl will be shown at the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C. with live musical accompaniment by 3epkano, an Irish musical ensemble which specializes in silent film accompaniment. The group will perform their original score, which was premiered in June at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.

And on January 13th, the film will be shown at the Action Christine cinema in Paris, France. This screening will be preceded by an author talk at the nearby Village Voice Bookshop by (yours truly) Thomas Gladysz, who will be speaking about his recently published "Louise Brooks edition" of the 1905 book which was the basis of the 1929 film.

ParisVoice, a webzine for English-speaking Parisians, ran a piece about the Jan 13th bookstore event and film screening in Paris. The article can be found at
