It's not really a history of the sign, more a history of "Hollywood" and how the iconography of the sign reflects that. There is very little on the history of the sign or Hollywoodland. The documentary is good but gets several facts wrong. My Arcadia Publishing book on Hollywoodland comes out in May and features a whole chapter on the sign.
