The australian writer Guy Boothby published five novels about the supervillain Dr. Nikola between 1895 and 1901. It seems, that the nearly forgotten (especially in Germany) works were filmed in the silent era. Three danish movies from the Nordisk Company have the titles "Dr. Nikola I-III" (1909), directed and played by Viggo Larsen. Could that movies be an early adaption of Boothby's books?
