Back in 2005, I bought this set for about $45 at Best Buy. At the time it seemed a little pricy until I watched it and was floored by the amazing material, regular and "supplemental" features, and by the high quality of the DVD menu graphics. Also, the booklet that came with it was not only my first significant encounter with Arbuckle, it introduced me to the painstaking care and effort required for the restoration of a film, the ones here in this collection, and in general.

It also made me aware for the first time of the differing opinions on "proper" speed for viewing of silent films (prior to this, I was squarely in the "16 fps is correct" camp, but no longer, and especially with respect to comedies).

Highly recommended, even (or more) for anyone whose interest in silent comedy hasn't ventured beyond Chaplin, and this set covers the early Keystones with Arbuckle and Chaplin, as well as his films wit Buster Keaton, Mabel Normand, Minta Durfee (who is underrated to say the least) and of course the many others who were supporting players in these movies, including the Keystone Cops.
