I guess it might act as a slight deterrent for a while but no more than that.

Technology scares me. I've always been afraid of dowloading videos via bittorrents or whatever. Worried I'll get a virus or something. Probably stems from the time I tried phone sex and got a really bad ear infection.

And ever since then, you wear condoms on your ears to prevent hearing AIDS . . . no?

I never thought of that. I've just maintained celibacy ever since...at least on the phone.

Time Warner is already slowing down my Roadrunner service, whenever too many subscribers are streaming video from NetFlix. Left out in the press release is the fact that many subscribers pay for a more expensive tier of service with higher download speeds just so they can download faster video files. Also left out is that the most popular downloads these days seem to be episodes of TV series in XviD format. The Internet functions like a time shifting VCR.

The cablecos want the lion's share, everything. So, "free" TV is a thing of the past, cable channels that used to have few commercials now have more commercials than the TV network shows and almost everything broadcast has at least one "bug" on it. Isn't it always the case that thieves (media companies like Time Warner) always thinks everyone else is also a thief? Who is going to head this new group to demonize Internet users but some sleazoid lawyers looking for steady meal tickets.
